What Are We Doing Here?
Mary Martha Taliaferro started The Café believing it's vital to help women live real life with genuine faith as they confront real pain and problems. Her team of Southern Chicks manage and run the Cross-Eyed Cafe. Each cyber-hostess has her own blog, and some also dish on the “Street Creed” and “Sweet Spot” podcasts.
The hot sauce on our menu is definitely the bottled up angst we receive in our fan mail. Along with queries about the Cafe Girls' marital status and Body Mass Index, we also receive random ramblings from across the Interweb. We appreciate you, and encourage you to continue to keep in touch.
Your Cross-Eyed Café waitstaff acknowledge that we human beings are all broken, and most of us are doing the best we can with the knowledge and skills we have right now. Even if we don't show it on the outside, everyone has a broken heart. So be as compassionate as you can, while still sticking up for your integrity.
Acts 17:22-27 (The Message)
So Paul took his stand in the open space at the Areopagus and laid it out for them. "It is plain to see that you Athenians take your religion seriously. When I arrived here the other day, I was fascinated with all the shrines I came across. And then I found one inscribed, to the god nobody knows. I'm here to introduce you to this God so you can worship intelligently, know who you're dealing with…he made the entire human race…so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find him. He doesn't play hide-and-seek with us. He's not remote; he's near. We live and move in him, can't get away from him!
